Q: How many yards of cushioning or covering do I need to redo my chair, sofa or couch?
A: That, of course, depends on the size of your piece of furniture. Please check out our yardage chart to estimate the amount of materials you'll need. On the average, a sofa will take about 15 yards, while a club chair about seven yards.

Q: How many pounds are in a yard of cotton or batting?
A: Cotton and synthethic cotton weighs approximately one pound per yard.

Q: What sizes does your upholstery foam come in?
A: Our foam is cut to size to your specifications. We supply upholstery foam in any size.

Q: What kind of glue do I use on foam cushions?
A: We can supply you with the foam adhesive aerosol that has been developed for use on padding and furniture material. We also supply Dacron-style polyester wraps, as well as a wide range of upholstery fabrics in a range of designs, and will cut them according to your specific requirements.

Q: How can I increase the life of my upholstery?
A: First, rotate all loose cushions frequently (like your car tires)--this assures even wear. Also, vacuum dirt and dust from all fabric, cracks and crevasses. A: The shaped pad is usually the culprit. If the upholstery is still in good shape, it's possible to remove it and change the pad; however, usually both the pad and the upholstery have deteriored and must be replaced. If you're a skilled do-it yourselfer, you should have no problem with this job. But most people will leave it to the professional.

Q: Is my furniture worth upholstering?
A: If your furniture is well made and fits in the area where you want to use it, and especially if you like it, then it's worth reupholstering. The foam cushions may need to be replaced, which will make a world of difference. Your furniture will look and feel brand new after reupholstering.
